I recently moved back to Cumbria and live near the Solway coast.  I sometimes go out with a sketchbook and paints and sit in the landscape and take it in. Using a variety of media from just pencil or pen to watercolour, gouache, pastels, oil pastels and watercolour pencils, all of them give a different response to the landscape. It's really fun to mix them together and work over areas with a different media.
